Erica is a literacy coach and reading specialist who develops teacher’s expertise in readers and writers workshops. Erica brings a breadth of experience as she has taught and coached grades K-8, worked with diverse populations in various school settings, and received extensive literacy and coaching training from Columbia University’s Teacher College Reading and Writing Project. In addition, she holds a Masters Degree in Reading and has a Reading Specialist credential. She has conducted workshops for schools and taught at the university level. Drawing upon the most current reading research and best practices in literacy instruction, Erica is truly a skilled coach, staff developer, and teacher. Her passion lies in providing professional development through on-site coaching in lab classrooms. Erica resides in Danville with her husband and three young children. She enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and spending time with her family.
Chara is a literacy coach for many districts across the Bay area, providing staff development and coaching teachers to improve their practice in readers and writers workshop. Chara has a Master’s Degree in Education and an Administrative Credential. She has received extensive literacy and coaching training from Columbia University’s Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, and has over ten years of K-6 classroom teaching experience. Chara plans and executes cycles of study for the teachers that she works with, all the while providing feedback and support within the classroom setting. She enjoys seeing the impact that explicit teaching has on children and loves helping create readers and writers for life! Chara couldn’t do this work without her husband Johnny. She has three girls who are in elementary, middle, and high school. In her spare time, Chara enjoys running, yoga and reading.
